Lingsoft Classifier is a so-called bayesian classifier, which can be trained with and attached to, for instance, the classification system of a newspaper archive. Lingsoft Classifier is taught to do its job according to the classification taxonomy with the help of pre-classified articles and documents.
Lingsoft Classifier suits especially well for hierarchical classification systems. Helsingin Sanomat was the first newspaper to deploy Lingsoft Classifier in their production. The company also took part in developing the application.
Lingsoft Classifier is delivered as a project, and the application is always integrated to the classification system and content management of the customer. The delivery also contains the needed high-quality linguistic tools from Lingsoft. The first delivered application was developed and deployed to classify articles in Finnish language, but Lingsoft's strong linguistic skills and experience makes it possible to develop and deliver Lingsoft Classifier for other languages as well.
Lingsoft Classifier can be delivered on project basis, or integrated by software developers or system integrators into various content management systems with the help of LSCLASS programming library.
